DJ Mag's Solarstone Interview
In their WMC issue this month, DJ Magazine caught up with Rich for a chat about all the current happenings… Solar-side! Of particular interest to the normally ‘trance-shy’ monthly? Well - naturally enough - the world’s first social network record label, solarSwarm, with Rich giving some previously unknown insights into its inner workings. Electronic Architecture Pt 2 (world exclusive scoop for them there!) was also high on the agenda as were Rich’s thoughts on the trance enduring popularity – “a lot of what is called trance music these days is just bloody pop music” being one sample quote! You can read DJ Mag’s interview with Rich by clicking here.

Solarstone Playing WMC // Electronic Architecture Nominated for an IDMA
Rich will be flying into Miami later this month for the 25th annual Winter Music Conference. As well as rolling up his (Don Johnson-style) sleeves to soak up a few rays he’ll also be bringing the Solar-sound to Ferry Corsten’s Once Upon A Night event at Karu & Y on the 26th. More likely than not he’ll also be donning a rented tux (picture that!) and dropping by the International Dance Music Awards on Thursday the 27th to see how Electronic Architecture contends in the prestigious Best Full Length Mix category. If you have the supreme good fortune to be in Miami throughout WMC week, he looks forward to seeing you!

Solaris 200 – Two Hundred Episodes of Solaris International
Tuesday the 9th of March, the Solaris International radio show will reach its milestone 200th episode. For Solaris200 Rich has turned over the music programming controls to… you. Yes indeed, this is the listener takeover! 100% request driven, all last week listeners were mailing the studio with the tracks they wanted to hear played during the broadcast.

You can get your first listen to Solaris200 at 18.00 GMT (19.00 CET, 01.00 EST) on Tuesday the 9th of March through the Solarstone website. Throughout the course of the week it will also be broadcast on the Passion Radio ILR network in the UK and on stations including Techno FM, Mix FM Switch FM, Pulzar FM & Overdrive Underground. You can of course get it as a download through iTunes! Set your auto downloader now and you’ll never miss another tech/elec/trance/prog/call-it-what-you-want packed episode again!

Alucard - Elation (Original and DJ Eco Remix)
This is Alucard's first solo release on Solaris, and being label boss Solarstone's favourite producer it's not before time! 'Elation' contains all the finely-honed Alucard production nuances which have made him Canada's hottest edm production export over the last couple of years; sweeping builds, layers of beautiful melody and solid, driving rhythms. Dj Eco's remix is a proper big-room thumper with a massive trance production which stays faithful to the musical elements of the original (as the best remixes should) whilst injecting the track with some additional peak-time atmosphere. It's out to buy on the 1st of March. Click here to listen to this release.

Solarstone & Alucard 'Slowmotion' (Original French Renaissance, Big Fat Rat, Iyla Malyuev & Lowland Remixes)
Slowmotion is the first release on Solarstone's new primarily progressive label 'Molecule', a nu breed of record imprint which is all about cutting edge sound and visual. This track first surfaced in 2008 on Orkidea's 'Metaverse' album, and subsequently on Solarstone's 'Electronic Architecture' album of 2009. Now we are proud to present this clutch of brilliant remixes to kick start Molecule's E.D.M presence. Check out the label website at moleculerecordings.com and watch the official video for 'Slowmotion' via the Solarstone YouTube Channel here.
